The City of Leitchfield built a state of the art community aquatic center which opened in the summer of 2015. Jenkins-Essex was the General Trades Contractor for this project.
The aquatic center features a zero depth entry into the main 217,000-gallon pool. The zero depth entry also features a large splash and play structure. The pool’s depth slopes from 3 ft 5 inches to the deepest area (over the diving well) at 11 ft 6 inches. The center also features two three-story (one un-covered slide & one covered slide), plunging into the catch pool. One of the most popular attractions is the winding lazy river. The aquatic center also features expansive men’s and women’s locker rooms, reception area and a snack bar.
